Winter lived inside my heart

I held inside not to depart

The sun failed to shine inside

For my pain, I tried to hide

His smile thawed me to my core

I felt the spring unlike before

The wounds still fresh inside me

Beg me let go to be free

Still I wait with hope renewed

Wishing my heart would be more shrewd

For him to say those three words

And lift my heart to the birds

Love is not lost, nor am I

Reborn again, even if a lie

Frail and weak but holding in

Trying to begin again
